About the Block: Bally Jagacha Development Block is situated in Howrah Sadar Sub Division of Howrah District in the state of West Bengal comprising of eight Gram Panchayats named Bally, Chakpara Anandanagar, Chamrail, Durgapur Abhaynagar-I, Durgapur Abhaynagar-II, Jagadishpur, Nischinda, Sanpuipara Basukati. Bally Jagacha Community Development Block has an area of 39.76 sq. km. consisting of two Police stations namely Nischinda and Liluah. On the west, Domjur is its neighbour and the south of it is linked with the area under Howrah Municipal Corporation. This is also the border block with the district of Hoogly on its northern side. The river Hoogly flows on the western side and has the district North 24-Parganas on the other shore. NH-6 and NH-2 are the two National Highways that pass through this Block. This Panchayat Samity has been declared as the first “ODF Panchayat Samity” under “Mission Nirmal Bangla Prokolpo” among 14 Panchayat Samities in Howrah District and ranked 1st in Mission Nirmal Bangla in Howrah District for Financial Year 2015-16. This Panchayat Samity also ranked 1st in Institutional matters in Financial Year 2015-16 and secured 1st prize in the Zilla Sansad of Howrah zilla Parishad.
